A Landscape of Language, Day One; 29.05.2007
A Landscape of Language is a performance commissioned by The Stamsund International Theater Festival. The piece began as a 100km walk over 50 hours starting at the beginning of the festival. Over the course of three days, people from the local area and festival participants called while I was walking. We would chat, I would ask questions: name a color; where did you grow up; what is one thing you enjoy about life, if you could pick an object to describe your personality, what object would you choose; then I would make a photograph in the vicinity triggered by that information. At the conclusion of the walk I gave a presentation of the images along with stories, then gave copies of the pictures to the callers.
